但皇室記者表示，皇室表示公爵夫人懷孕未過12禮拜的關鍵時期，因此不會公佈預產期，但稍後會公佈預產月份，雖然宮內消息表示，女皇在公佈前24小時內才知道，公爵和夫人想保守秘密，愈久愈好，但夫人害喜大作，無法出席在牛津預定行程，所以「被迫公佈有關喜訊。」
